In today’s article, we would like to share what should be included in your checklist when submitting your Singapore Permanent Resident PR application.
The application process can be quite complex, which is why you need a checklist to prepare yourself. It is useful. Especially, there are many mandatory PR application documents required to be submitted to the Immigration and Checkpoint Authority of Singapore (ICA). If the documents are not in order or complying with ICA’s requirements, it will affect your chances of getting approved. ICA reserves the right and authority to reject outright an incomplete application. In other words, your application for permanent residency may take a long time. Of course, many reasons will affect your approval chances.

You need a checklist way before you begin your application journey. The checklist we are referring here is a list of information best for you to have on hand. This checklist will help you to save time and reduce the ‘road-block’ along the way.
Information such as:
Detailed information about your family and yourself (spouse, parent-in-law, children etc). You need to know their identity number, occupations, your past resident address/es etc.
The list of official documents or papers is required for submission – are they in the English version? Are the supporting documents are in good conditions i.e. not torn, old, etc.
A sponsor for your PR status application: ICA require a letter of recommendation from your sponsor. Is your sponsor ready to do it? Let’s say the sponsor is the your employer. The employer has to provide many documents to show facts about the applicant, such as the length of stay in the country, the amount of salary earned per month etc.
Here are some other mandatory documents required (depending on your profile) which you can add on to your checklist.
- National Identity card and birth certificate
- Valid travel document – must have at least 6 months validity
- Marriage certificate
- Letter of employment
- Latest Payslip
- Local insurance policies
- Business registration certificates
- Company’s financial report & more.
